Clay Steudman RN, BSN
Director of Nursing
Houston "Clay" Steudeman RN, BSN serves as Director of Nursing over The Haven's Sherman and Dallas locations. Clay graduated from the Grayson County College Registered Nursing program with honors in 1997 and received the outstanding student nurse award for his graduating class. Clay then received his Bachelors of Nursing in 2018 from University of Texas at Arlington with honors.
Clay has a passion for The Haven clients due to both of his parents being addicts as well as one brother. Clay lives by a rule that has brought him through many struggles- "Anybody can do anything as long as they want it bad enough." Clay has CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Advanced Life Support. Clay has five grown children and two grandchildren. Clay also has strong religious beliefs and is an adult Sunday school teacher at his church.
Melissa Marsch, LCDC
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor
Melissa Marsch is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She has experience working in the inpatient addiction treatment setting in a variety of capacities, as well as in program coordination & operations for sober living facilities. She has a thorough understanding of the treatment and recovery process, and uses her experience as a tool to assist others in finding healing and connection.
On a personal note Melissa is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys hiking and exploring nature.
John Chapman
Admissions Director and Head of Transportation
John Chapman serves as Admissions Director and Head of Transportation for The Haven Texas. He studied English and Comparative Literature at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. John is actively engaged in the Dallas recovery community and sponsors many people. He is an integral, active member of many Fellowships, including CMA Dallas Unwired, Lambda AA, Preston AA Group and many others.
John has been an advocate and activist for equality for the LGBTQIA+ community for many years. Service, Health, Wellness and Connection are invaluable priorities for John.
Dillon Ortiz
Deputy Director of Admissions and Transportation
Dillon Ortiz serves as Deputy Director of Admissions and Transportation for The Haven Texas. He attended The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and majored in psychology. Dillon is very passionate about helping people on their road to recovery with the same dignity and compassion he was shown in early sobriety. He is an active member of the Dallas recovery community, attending 12 step meetings, and carrying the message to the alcoholic and addict that still suffer.
In his spare time Dillon can be found working out, running, or spending quality time with his friends and Siberian Husky, Apollo.
